BUILT AROUND MUSKIES.
BUILT AROUND PEOPLE.
The NY Musky Expo is a gathering built around the musky community — the anglers, guides, lure builders, clubs and families who share a passion for the fish. February 6–7, 2027 marks the Expo’s sixth year.
The people behind the Expo
HOW IT STARTED
The story of how the NY Musky Expo began — the people who created it, their vision for the event and how it has grown — is coming soon.
MORE THAN A SHOW.
A FUTURE FOR THE FISHERY.
A Tradition Worth Passing On
The New York Musky Expo brings together anglers, lure builders, families, and conservation partners who share a passion for muskies and the waters they call home.
One of the Expo's most meaningful traditions happens when the show comes to an end.
For two consecutive years through 2026, representatives of the Chautauqua Fish Hatchery have brought live musky fingerlings to the Expo, giving visitors an opportunity to see these remarkable fish up close and learn about the work that goes into supporting New York's musky fisheries.

On Sunday, as the Expo concludes, the tradition moves outdoors to Chautauqua Lake.
A hole is drilled through the winter ice, and the Expo's Muskie Mascot fingerlings are carefully released into the lake.
It's a memorable conclusion to the weekend—and a reminder that the future of musky fishing begins with the care we give our fisheries today.

Giving Back to the Fishery
The Expo community doesn't just celebrate muskies. It helps support their future.
In 2026, a collaborative lure-building fundraiser raised and donated $1,650 to the Chautauqua Hatchery.
The contribution reflects the generosity of participating lure builders, anglers, and supporters who came together to give something back to the fishery.
Special thanks go to Riley and Aaron of the Chautauqua DEC Hatchery for helping make the fingerling tradition possible and for their work supporting New York's musky fisheries.
The Next Generation
For young anglers and families, seeing a live musky at the Expo is an exciting experience.
Watching those fish return to Chautauqua Lake adds something more: a connection between enjoying the sport and protecting the resource.
From the show floor to the frozen lake, the New York Musky Expo is about more than one weekend. It's about the people, the fishery, and the future they share.
